Mackenzie Warner is a Canadian documentary + narrative editor for long and short form film and has had the honor of working alongside some of the most talented artists in the field.
His passion for documentary has led him to work with Parks Canada as a wildlife videographer (2012), as an assistant editor on the documentary Fractured Land (2015), an in-house editor and footage archivist for the Pacific Wild Foundation (2016), and most recently with the RCMP as the lead editor on The Last Chapter educational series (2021).
As a narrative editor he has worked with CBC award-winning sketch artists Human Town, independent filmmakers, musicians, and has participated in community-engaging competitions that connect filmmakers and empower their work. In 2020 he wrote the short film A New Leash On Life, which premiered in over 25 film festivals including VIFF, and is available to watch on CBC Gems.
Mackenzie prides himself on working closely with creators on their projects, listening to and understanding what they are setting out to achieve, and using his skills to encourage images and sequences that are bold, original, and personal.
